No. The ultrasounds we offer at Tiny Treasure Imaging are keepsake and bonding ultrasounds, designed to give you beautiful images and videos of your baby. They do not replace any medical ultrasounds ordered by your doctor, which are necessary for monitoring your baby’s health and development. Always follow your healthcare provider’s recommendations for prenatal care.
Since our 3D and 4D ultrasounds are keepsake experiences rather than medical exams, they aren’t covered by insurance. We make it easy to choose a package that fits your needs so you can enjoy these special moments with your baby!
2D Ultrasound
Traditional black-and-white ultrasound that shows flat images of your baby. Commonly in OB imaging used to assess growth, heartbeat, and anatomy.
3D Ultrasound
Creates a still, three-dimensional image so you can see your baby’s facial features like the nose, lips, and cheeks in beautiful detail.
4D Ultrasound
A live, moving version of 3D ultrasound that lets you watch your baby yawn, stretch, or smile in real time.
5D (HD live) Ultrasound
A creation of a 3D image of your baby that allows for further manipulation of the image. It allows for skin color changes and changes of lighting angles change clarity of the 3D image.
The best time to see your baby in 3D is typically between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. During this time, your baby has developed more facial features while still having enough room and fluid to move, allowing for clearer and more detailed images. Every pregnancy is different, but this window usually provides the best balance for beautiful 3D and 4D views.
While we always strive to capture the best images possible, clear views can’t be guaranteed. Factors such as baby’s position, gestational age, movement, maternal anatomy, and amniotic fluid levels can affect image clarity. To help visibility under 15 weeks, please come to your appointment with a full bladder. It is best to drink 24 oz of water, 1-2 hours before your visit. To help encourage baby to move throughout the scan and possibly even into a better position, we recommend eating a light meal or snack before your appointment, as this can often help stimulate movement.
Sometimes babies are shy or positioned in a way that makes it difficult to see their face or determine gender. While we always do our best, factors such as baby’s position, gestational age, movement, and maternal anatomy can affect visibility. If we’re unable to capture clear images, we’ll try different positions and techniques to encourage baby to move. Since our goal is always to give you the best experience possible we offer discounted or free rescans based on the service you booked.
Meet Your Gem: 50% off a rescan
Tiny Treasure: free rescan for gender determination only
Treasure Trove: free rescan if baby’s face &/or gender is not seen
You’ll receive your digital and printed photos before your appointment ends, so you can take them home right away.
